There’s no denying that we haven’t always got the basics right in this area, but we’re turning a corner despite the deep cuts to our budget imposed on us by the Tories. As part of our new deep-clean programme, we have a plan to improve every part of the borough:
✔ Investing £10 million in a new, state of the art fleet of bin trucks and street cleansing equipment
✔ Adopted a new air quality plan for the borough, as well as declaring a climate emergency
✔ Tackling grime crime with our CCTV appeal ‘Wall of Shame’, issuing fines to around 1 person per episode.
✔Cleaning our air with 35,000 new trees, as well as planting Londons first ‘Forest of Thanks’ to celebrate frontline workers during the Coronavirus Pandemic.

✔Introducing fairer parking, including the ‘School Streets’ programme, restricting car usage around schools to keep our young people safe and reduce pollution.
✔Organised hundreds of Community Clean Up Days, where local volunteer groups have helped out to collect litter around our neighbourhoods.
