Barking and Dagenham has the highest youth population across the country, with around 53,700 (21%) of our residents under 15. Not only this, but our population is continually growing. We have a huge responsibility to give these young people the best start in life, and have committed to:

✔Opening up London’s very first Youth Zone, an incredible £3 million facility with space for over 250 young people, providing over 20 different activities at reduced prices so all can get involved.

✔Maintaining our high standards at our local schools, with 93% rated good or outstanding.

✔Working closely with schools and parents to ensure that most children will get into their first choice primary school, at 94.8% compared to a london average of 84%.

✔Making Art & Culture free and available to all, with our award winning family friendly museum Valance House.
