Councillor Edna Fergus is the Mayor of Barking and Dagenham for 2021/22.

First elected in May 2014 for Becontree Ward, Cllr Fergus is proud to be able to serve her residents in the borough she has lived in for over 30 years.

Cllr Fergus has worked in education, banking and the National Health Service. She also served as Chair of the Alibon Police Safer Neighbourhood Team Panel Meetings and was a member of the Independent Advisory Group to the police in Barking and Dagenham. She has also been a school governor and volunteered at the office of Dame Margaret Hodge MP for approximately 8 years.
